Focal Length and Baseline Calculator for Stereo Cameras

The calculator can calculate the required focal length and corresponding viewing angle and help you choose proper stereo depth cameras, such as our MYNT EYE series. It can also assist you in choosing the baseline distance and predict depth errors,etc.

Image Sensor Parameters

Manually input the parameters of your image sensor so that we can precisely calculate the focal length and baseline of your stereo camera.

Focal Length

Three ways are provided to determine the focal length:
1. Manually input the focal length;
2. Calculate the focal length based on a specified viewing angle;
3. Determine the focal length from expected projection transformation. In such case, you need to input the size and distance of your assumed object as well as the projection size in the camera image.

Solid Geometry Metric (optional)

To calculate the baseline distance of the stereo depth camera, you are required to further input the minimum depth and viewing angle range for depth measurement. Then the baseline distance is calculated to make the depth measurement at the minimum focal length have the maximum parallax value.
